Hi, I´m Sonia .

I´m an Artist and full time lover of nature.

I was born in 1971 and now in my 40´s…, like in my childhood, I love that my clothes are covered of paint.

Trained as a classical Artist/Illustrator,  I have developed my more than 20 years of professional career in the illustration field, illustrating fantasy rol games, children books and some other fantasy international publications.

There have been exhibitions of my work in Europe and the US. I had a permanent exhibition in Tamara Bane Gallery (Los Angeles, California) from 2002 to 2009 and my original works took part in exhibitions as the Echo Gallery- Heavy Metal exhibition (Chicago 2004) and Robert Bane´s Exhibition 2005. Receiving commissions all over the world, and with increasing popularity my paintings can be found in the best art collections of this genre worldwide. I was able to secure a firm position for myself as one of the top international Pinup fantasy artists.

After  many years doing illustrations and paintings in the studio, I missed going out and painting in a faster and spontaneous way and the result has been paintings full of expression and essence.

My great love is painting en plein air, which has also enhanced my studio work.

Passionate about nature, nowadays  my more personal work is dedicated to landscapes, wildlife and flora as so to architecture and human activities of every day life. I am always looking for new places to sketch and paint. In my illustrations I controlled  very carefuly every touch of the brush but I have found a very good balance going outside the studio and being in contact with the “real” world, interpreting it as I see it, feeling it and taking risks. The more I observe the more connected with everything I feel, living the eternal in that precise instant of changing lights. Usually “less is more” and the paintings and sketches in location have a freshness you can´t obtain with much more overworked pieces.
Years of artistic exploration have allowed me flexibility of style and to use a wide variety of techniques. So right now I feel I am in the happiest moment, where I learned all these years allows me to paint more freely and what I always wanted to paint.

I live in Asturias, in the beautiful and savage North Coast of Spain with my husband and our beloved three cats.
